§ 7-192. Proper use of licenses or certificates.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person licensed by the Arkansas Board of Electrical Examiners to alter, transfer, lend or rent his license. It shall be unlawful for any person to falsely represent himself to be licensed or to wrongfully use a license issued by the Arkansas Board of Electrical Examiners.

    (b)

    All electrical work shall be performed by or under the auspices of a properly established and licensed electrician and certified electrical or electrical sign contractor, except as provided in section 7-181. All work associated with electrical contract work or associated with an electrical business shall be performed by regular employees of said contractor under the supervision of a properly licensed electrician, and all employees performing electrical work shall be on the regular payroll of said contractor.

    (c)

    All work shall be done by employees properly registered with the building official, properly licensed where applicable and holding the proper certificate. No work is permitted by unregistered personnel; although, due to administrative delay or other factor beyond said contractor's control, the required certificate may not have been issued or received, work may be permitted by an employee who may not have yet received the required certificate but who has been registered. In any case, certification of an employee must have been received, and the certificate in the possession of the employee, no later than thirty (30) days following the registration of the employee.
